We are pleased to offer you a relaxing, exciting and fun painting course during your stay in Tuscany in the studio of artist Gordon Breckenridge in San Gimignano. All participants, with or without experience, will be able to learn both the techniques of drawing, color or oil painting and much more thanks to painting from life by a well-
known local Canadian artist with more than 40 years of painting experience “En plen air” in Tuscany.
The “en plein air” oil based course will be immersed in the Tuscan countryside. The participant will be able to paint views by developing the ability to observe and reproduce color with a brush or palette knife, creating a composition from start to finish. The artist will help the participant to develop the knowledge of the technique and of the oil starting from the preparation of the canvas. Learn how to mix color, practicing applying layers in order to modify the brightness, density and transparency of the tint by working on the chromatic gradations, passing from the darkest to the lightest.
Gordon was born in Canada in 1948, at the age of 23 he decided to follow his talent and moved to Florence where he graduated from the academy “di Belle Arti”. He studies drawing and charcoal painting with the renowned teacher Nerina Simi in the school founded by his father, who had studied under Gerome in Paris in the 1870s. These 9 years of classical training laid the foundation on which Gordon gradually developed his own unique and personal style.
His works have been exhibited in different parts of Italy, in Switzerland, in England, in Canada at MacMillan and Perrin Gallery (Vancouver), in California and in New Mexico. He has received numerous awards and his paintings of him are found in over 500 private collections around the world, earning international recognition and appreciation.
The basic course lasts 4 hours with the possibility of switching to an intensive 12 hours course to be divided into 3 afternoons. (Min. 1 – max. 4 people).

Individual course price:
Basic course: 4 hours 250 euros per person; Intensive course: 12 hours 700 euros per person.
Course price for 2 to 4 people:
Basic course: 4 hours 180 euros per person; Intensive course: 12 hours 500 euros per person.
