Description
Fattoria Poggio Alloro is a family-run organic farm where they produce: wine, extra virgin olive oil, durum wheat pasta and saffron. The Chianine breeding is the only one in the San Gimignano area, it has about 50 cattle, they graze freely in the fields around the lake and are also fed with the organic products that we cultivate specifically for them such as barley, corn, oats, and hay.
Sharing is the basis of our philosophy. We like our guests to get familiar with old country traditions, to experience the beauty of nature, and enjoy the genuine and organic products of our land. A vacation or a stop at Fattoria Poggio Alloro will give you the opportunity to fully appreciate the true spirit and essence of Tuscan culture and tradition. You will soon feel at ease thanks to the warm, friendly, and cheerful atmosphere that originates from our organic lifestyle and family values.
The cooking class teach how to prepare typical and genuine dishes of the Tuscan tradition in a cheerful and convivial atmosphere. You can spend half a day with your family, your loved ones or friends, cooking the dishes that you will then go to taste. You will literally end up with “hands in the dough”!
During the cooking class you will learn how to prepare handmade pasta and typical Tuscan bruschetta, learning the family recipes handed down on the farm. The course also includes a tasting of Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, the four-course dinner is accompanied by our organic wines with a complimentary apron and recipes.

Fattoria Poggio Alloro, the Fiorini family’s agriturismo, was truly a magical experience! Prior to arriving at the farm, my husband and I had purchased a copy of Sarah Fiorini’s cookbook: A Family Farm in Tuscany. Although we already had a glimpse of paradise, words cannot possibly describe the beauty we encountered upon arriving at the farm—rolling Tuscan hills overlooking the medieval towers of San Gimignano, an abundance of sublime cuisine de terroir and wines enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere of long tables shared with people from various cultures … One can taste this family’s love of the land in the food they cultivate and prepare. We even had the opportunity to learn how to prepare some of the family’s traditional Tuscan recipes in one of Sarah’s cooking classes. It was so much fun!
The bond we made with this family will never be broken. Sarah, Amico, Renzo, Adelina, Marta, Russ (and all the others!) –Grazie mille! We miss you all so much! Ciao for now…
